[The amount of people being sent home recently made her wonder...]

Do people who are returned by BREW always forget everything that happened here when they go back?

I know people sometimes remember things when they’re brought back to this world, but if they aren’t...[She looks away for a moment.] ...if BREW doesn’t bring them back, do they really ( Read more... )

[This isn't something Mitsunari has placed any significant amount of thought into but it is a sobering thought. If he were to return tomorrow, would he remember the Saika's loyalty? Would he recall his time spent with the other world's Hideyoshi? Would the memory of speaking to a dragon still cling to his mind?]

...I do not have an answer for you. [He shakes his head a bit, still contemplating her question.] It is impossible to know the truth.

If there is anything I have learned in my time here, it is that nothing remains certain. Whatever they may have experienced may not be the same as another, we cannot cite it as precedent.

I recall a time when that miserable dog- [He snarls the phrase bitterly, baring his teeth for a moment. Even with Ieyasu gone from this world, recalling the memory of the man still made his blood boil] had originally left this world...

[He closes his eyes a moment, recalling that Ieyasu's first disappearance had been quite brief, no more than two or three days... But this time felt different. Somehow, Mitsunari just knew that he would not be returning this time. He shakes the thought from his mind, trying to focus on Aqua instead.]

He returned with his memory of this domain in tact... But his memory of our home lands had changed.
