[video] Jan 1st, Mid Morning

Nov 20, 2011 19:49

[Shinji is outside, looking... well brisk for once, enjoying a smoke in the cold morning air. Someone got up to watch the sunrise this morning to greet in the new year and has been riding the  feeling since then it seems]

It's weird, not being able to visit a shrine for the holiday. Makes sense though, being America.

Kanaya, you awake?

You could set up your own shrine, couldn't you?

Could, but it's not quite the same. The places that have been there for who knows how long have a different feeling to them, I guess.

Old buildings do have a special something to them, don't they? Something beautiful, I mean, besides the ghosts.

Nothing much. New missions went up, saw the posting earlier. Want to do one?

I don't like to rush these things.

I'd been thinking about that for a while, a shrine. It does make sense, but it's still pretty jarring.

I know Christmas is the big deal here, but being in it is kinda off putting.

I ended up going to the church here. I know it's not the same, but it felt like the best thing to do. What about you?

Just stayed up for the sunrise, left a few things for people back home. Nothing fancy.

I agree, it does feel different that we can't visit a shrine here.

[Especially the last time she went to one was about a month before their fight with Nyx]

I suppose we could always visit one if we ever have a mission in Japan in this world.

In America, they do New Year Resolutions instead of New Year Fortunes... it's like picking your own annual fate.
