I'm sure that you'll all have a jolly time drinking nonalcoholic beverages and overindulging on processed foods as the seconds tick away to the transference of the calendar year, even without the ever lovely allure of grievous bodily injury.

Yes, I imagine that sharing a title with our supposed enemies makes it a sight more difficult to come to terms with rending them limb from limb in order to return to the universe from whence we came.

Mad? Whatever gave you that impression? I was simply expressing my overwhelming shock that you aren't waiting another ridiculous length of time before imparting some trivial fact unto me, the lowly timeline backbencher.

I don't remember implying that your martial skills were ever being called into question. All the same it's good to know that your affinity to titular witchcraft won't keep you sidelined, much the same as the other times you've departed and returned.

I do believe that I told you that long before now, Jade. Regardless it's nice to know that you've finally come around. I'd rather not do this impromptu Q&A session over the network though, if it's all the same to you.

[ Sure enough, she's entering the apartment in a few minutes, looking a little cold. The god hoodie was never meant for warmth! ]

Over here. [she's on the couch, swaddled in some blankets and holding a mug of something warm. Jade will note there's more than enough blankets for herself and another steaming mug on the coffee table]

[ She takes the other mug happily, curling up next to her friend. ]

A complete and detailed rundown from beginning to end would be appreciated. Clarity and consistency is something I've been lacking from previous shreds.

[ She takes a sip of her drink and begins from where she remembers -- the start of her game, her death on Prospit, everything that she knows happened to John, Dave, and even Rose.

When she gets to the grimdark part, she falters, but continues. She tells Rose everything -- from having to collect frogs to having to save Dave with a kiss, to how everything was her fault involving that whole debacle. She cries, but doesn't notice it. After that, she talks about Karkat, about her plan versus the plan of Rose's (how she hasn't heard from them and she's worried, so worried) to god tier.

And then she stops. The drink remains untouched other than that one sip, but it's gone cold by the time she finishes. ]

I want you to get back to me. At home.

[Rose's face is still as glass as the story unfolds - for all intents and purposes she's taking this as calmly as being told the weather. the only indication that maybe she's not as 0k with her future as she's letting on is the way she's gripping her mug, knuckles white and bloody little crescents in the places her her fingers meet her palm.

this is unacceptable. while she's relieved to learn that her information about John's death was ultimately incorrect, everything else was wrong wrong wrong. she wouldn't let it happen. she couldn't.

but that's not for right now. right now Jade is asking something of her, Jade is hurting, and she has to be a friend. so she puts down her mug and pulls the other girl into a tight hug, voice as carefully calm as her expression.]

As if I'd be considering doing anything else.

Sorry if I didn't tell you before. I thought that, if we broke the rules here, we'd suffer for it. But if we're all suffering anyway....
