[The feed turns on to a room that is a little foggy. Mostly smoke but Holmes isn't one to open the window when there is snow outside. He is, however, hazing out the window at the snow. Watching the people a bit before he turns his attention to the camera. Obviously this wasn't an accident.]I suppose it is customary to wish others a Happy

[He enters the room with some noise, thumping the snow and mud off his shoes as he gets in, making a face at the smoke but not looking too put out by it.] Holmes, my dear old friend, do open the windows. This is absolutely poisonous.

Considering the day he obliged his companion and cracked open the window. He enjoyed the crisp wind that blew in for a few moments.]
I was in need of occupation. Snow is aesthetically appealing, but it seems even criminals do not enjoy cold feet.

Have you been here all day? It's lovely outside, if a tad cold.

[Of course that would keep Watson busy, but safer. And also closer to what Holmes was investigating at the moment.]
I find little use in being out today.
[He's sitting on the open windowsill now.]

[Watson puts a package that he had been carrying earlier -- it's just a wine box, nothing mysterious -- on the table, and looks around him. He's itching to give his present that's in his medicine bag, but it seems anti-climactic...] Have you eaten anything at all today, Holmes?

[He can already hear a bit of a tirade there but he'll push on and pretend he isn't expecting it.
The snow is bringing up a bit of nostalgia.]
I've been occupied.
Reply
And I have a present for you, of course. Do come down from there, Holmes.
Reply
Of course, my dear Watson. It would not be Christmas without a heartfelt exchange of goods.
[The tone doesn't match the words though as Holmes voice is a bit warmer then it tends to be when speaking of the softer side of human emotions. This is, after all, the first holiday season he has had with his Boswell since the Falls.]

[That catches his attention. Oh, did Holmes give him something? But Watson is aware, yes. It's really... been a long three years.]
Happy Christmas, Holmes. [happily]
Reply
Of course he has something for Watson. Holmes nods before letting a soft smile into his eyes.]
Happy Christmas, Watson.
[He'll step away from his chair and ta-da. A nice gift wrapped box. Holmes really tried for a normal paper but that seems to be rather difficult to obtain in this time.]

Should we open them?
Reply
He'll wait to open it. It has just been too long since he has seen such a truly happy John Watson before him.]
After you dear fellow.

[Watson looks considerably even more happy when he does open his package and sees the medical bag inside. His own had become very worn, and all these new medicines won’t fit anymore.]
Why, Holmes! [turns to his friend in glee.] Thank you, dear friend.
Reply
Holmes simply nods at the gratitude.]
I noticed that it would particularly useful.
[Of course a simple one would suffice for that but let us ignore that particular fact, hmm?
Taking his own gift, Holmes examines the package. After a moment he unwraps it and lets a small smile cross his features.
He will be putting that snuff to it's full usage as soon as he is able.]
Why, Watson it seems you noticed the rather sad state of my pipe.
...
Thank you, my friend.

[But now he's inspecting his new bag to see how he's moving the items from his old one here.] It's been a while since we've had Christmas together, Holmes.

It is good to see my methods being put into practice.
[He is now rather intent on using this new lovely pipe but he pauses to look up at Watson.]
...it truly has, my Watson.
Three years.
