[She hadn't woken until late in the day, hopefully long after the people from the Europe mission have returned home; and after being fussed over by the doctors and nurses to make sure she was okay (no lasting damage, they could report with relief, that she was lucky) she was ready for visitors. There was something fuzzy, tugging at the corner of her memories that something happened, after the incident with Gamzee. But it was like an irritating buzz that just made her head hurt the more she thought on it. So she put it out of her mind, for now, and picked her communicator up instead.
When the video comes on it, it only shows white, the white of the crisp hospital sheets.
What should she say? She's been out for a while; she must have worried more than a few people, especially when she hadn't woken up after a couple days. There were no words that would make this situation much better, and though she was full of questions she knew she had to wait until she'd reassured people that she was alright before starting on her interrogations.
Rei hesitates, and then quietly lifts the communicator to show her face, worried, very pale, The bruises have faded some and a few of the worst ones are starting to lighten along her jaw, but the bandages around her head, though freshly changed, are still there. After a moment her lips curve into a sad little smile, her gaze going momentarily to the window, before back to the video.]
I woke up to snow. [Could've been worse.] I'm, um... I'm awake. And I'm okay, and doctors are letting people visit me.
How long have I been out? [She already knew, but she wanted to double-check. And to end this with something that could open up more questions for her to ask]
