For the curious...

I have completed my study of the message left by Adachi. Since he seems to have an unusual method of leaving messages, and Senpai seems to think that the squeamish would prefer to see this over the network rather than in person...

Something about preserving Souji-kun's dignity...

Here is a transcript of what has been so kindly ( Read more... )

This man is disgusting.

What's Shibusen make of this? Is the bounty still open to all partners?

I am of the opinion that this man needs lessons if he wants to pick up a blade again. Senpai's got scars neater than that from my first experiments.

I'm under the impression he wasn't going for a neat job.

If I or anyone else has anything to say about it, he'll never touch a blade again.

I hope not.

Perhaps that should be my next lesson.

He managed to fit all of that in such a small body? I gave him less credit than he deserved.

He requires odd numbers for two of the teams. That means that someone will be going without a partner, or someone will be required to wield two weapons.

It wasn't anything to be impressed about.

And the chances of any newcomers wielding two Weapons is slim to none.

It is if he managed to actually leave the kid alive. It's easier when they're dead.

His arrogance will be his downfall, but his game should be interesting. I assume we're playing.

Good.

And what is Shibusen's plan of action?

So he wants a total of eighteen people.

Forgive me for asking, but is there any reason why we should follow his conditions, other than his threat to evade capture and continue with his killing spree? A serial killer will always be a serial killer. He won't stop killing even if we obeyed his "rules".

I agree. To cave in to his demands is to give him power. We must make him follow our rules, not obey his.

[is surprised to hear someone agreeing with him, but is also encouraged by your agreement]

[nodding] If we can find a way to seal off all possible escape routes, I don't see why we should be worried about him running away. And as for his threat to continue killing, Shibusen's purpose is to hunt down people like him, right? It doesn't really matter either way.

We should not underestimate him. We do not know his capabilities, and he may have access to resources that would aid in his escape. While we should not accede to his demands, we should be cautious.

And your new rules... Only true partners allowed after him? Is that it?

Will you staff be part of the 'eighteen?'

These are not my rules, if you had read what I said.

These were provided by the killer - but if you can't even fathom that, then you will not be going on this mission.

That is not what I meant. Apologies-- it was a... statement.

But someone had said only those with partners were allowed, aru. That it would be too dangerous otherwise.
