So all day long in my presentations, i have been letting it slip that i like pokemon and gundam. As soon as classes ended for the day, like six excited litte guys burst into the teachers' room to ask me about my favorite mobile suits and recommend new series for me to watch. The genki-est little one nabbed my iphone and wrote あにき on it before setting it down and shuffling out of the room with the rest of the crowd. It means big brother. I'm so in.
I could lie and say it was a strategic move on my part. After all, when kids are interested in you, they also become interested in what you teach. But mostly I'm just a huge nerd who's being honest about his totally immature interests. But it seems like that's a plus over in this part of the world. I really love these kids.
