It was never really a holiday that Sendo celebrated either. But it was hard to see all the decorations and people talking about what they were getting their friends and not want to try to get into it yourself. The only person he had gotten anything for was Saya, and that was because he didn’t know what to get anyone else that he knew.

Sendo stepped out of his bedroom with Saya’s gift in hand. The box he was holding was big enough for the assortment of books that he got her. There was also a smaller box inside with the necklace in it.

Saya turned her head when she heard Sendo "The cake is ready. There are eggnogs in the fridge, and I also made substantial food" as in, meat because they need to eat something else besides sweets. She was about to go on, but stopped looking at the box Sendo was holding.

"......... what?"

Sendo was looking forward to having a bit of that eggnog himself. He tried it for the first time earlier this month and now he had developed a bit of a taste for it. He wanted to give her her gift first. Her reaction to see it was unexpected, though.

"What do you mean what? This is your gift."

Saya stared for a couple more seconds before blushing a bit. Mostly because that was a huge present and hers to Sendo was pretty small - a scarf - but she tried not to think about it too much.

"Well, yes. I know that." the girl got up, not picking the box yet "Let me get yours first." and off she goes to her room for a second, and returns with a perfectly wrapped gift that she had gotten Sendo earlier this week. She hands it to him, slightly self-conscious because the size of her gift was obviously smaller.

His gift was far less impressive than it looked. At least that’s what he would tell her if she compared it to the size of the gift that she had purchased for him. He placed it down on the nearest flat surface when she went off to get his. He didn’t expect her to get him anything really. So just the prospect of a gift had him excited.

“You didn’t have to get me anything, you know.” He happily took the gift from her.

"You didn't have to do the same for me, either. But you did." she was glad she had gotten him something. Saya smiled, and approached her gift, opening the box like a... well, kid on Christmas day.

When she peeked inside, her eyes widen and she looked as happy as she could get - something rare for Saya, actually - and immediately took them off the box "Wah! So many!"

The look on her face when she saw the gifts was more than he could have hoped for. “I didn’t know what you liked to read, so I tried to get a bunch of different things.” Some of the books he judged by their covers, even though they say should do that. He unwrapped the gift that she had given him. He showed similar happiness to the scarf and he immediately put it on.

“I was just thinking the other day about buying a scarf too.”

Saya kept checking out the things in the box, until she found a smaller box inside, that she opened with curiosity. When she finally reached for the necklace, her eyes widen a bit , surprised to have yet another present - and as much she'd refuse to knowledge, she did like the necklace more than the books.

She put it on right after, and got up, turning to Sendo with a smile - yes, she is showing off the necklace. "So?"

Sendo looked over to her after he finished fiddling with his scarf and saw that she found the necklace too. He had no clue what she would think about it, cause he never saw her wear any jewelry. But by the look on her face, she certainly didn’t hate it. “I think it looks good on you. But do you really like it? I’ve never picked out a gift like that for anyone before.”

"if I didn't like it, I wouldn't use it." Saya touched the necklace, smiling and nodded after "I love it." the girl approached Sendo after touching the scarf "Do you like it? For real?" she felt a bit bad for not getting him something better.

"I seriously like it, Saya. I doubt you will see me without it until summer time." He thought this gift was just fine for him.

"So don't worry about it."

If he liked it, it was good enough for her. Saya nodded, accepting his words and moved towards the present she had gotten from Sendo once more. "These are a lot. You picked them at random?" she opens a random one, flipping through the pages.

"Yeah. I didn't know what sort of books you liked to read. And some of the covers looked pretty interesting." He shrugged a little before moving over to peer over her shoulder at the book.

"Try not to read them all at once, though."

"Of course I won't, I'll-" Saya flipped through the pages for a bit, until she stopped, quickly reading a small paragraph. And she turned red right there, because that was smut and she just red smut and Sendo gave her smut for Christmas and-

She turns to look at him. "WHA!! Do you know what this is?!" shows him the book.

Saya’s sudden reaction to whatever it was on the page caught Sendo off guard. “I- No. Why what-“ He looked over the page, but that one particular paragraph caught his attention. He grabbed the book with both hands and pulled it closer, a little in disbelief.

“This is-!! Saya! I didn’t mean to get you a book like this!”

The following was going through Saya's mind: ndfsghfdjbfjhbghjfbghjdg.

"You don't just grab random books without knowing what they are about, musclehead!!" and despite her bitching going on, she grabbed the book again, closed it and... well, kept it. What? it was her Christmas gift, of course she was going to keep it. And read it.
