Characters: OPEN Location: Shibusen Linz, Austria Rating: PG Time: December 20 onwards Description: Linz has gotten some battering, but it's not so wrecked to not be able to pay attention to its injured.
[she addresses him, and like a startled animal his gaze comes back around to her. the look isn't kind, instead almost accusatory, threatening that if she didn't do what she had to do properly there would be consequences. it takes an enormous amount of effort to keep his attention away from the still body of his meister. he doesn't even look like he's breathing.]
There's nothing wrong with me! [it comes out on the verge of a shout, stained hands curling into fists. his ribs were bruised from that thing's grip, yes, but he could still function, he could still fight if he had to--
but that thought grinds to a sick halt. no, he couldn't fight. he couldn't fight here because he couldn't resonate, and because he couldn't resonate he may have killed Sara. he hadn't been strong enough. just like the first time. the silence that falls after his statement is only punctuated by the movement around them, his gaze leveled to Gai's face but edging on muted hysteria. somehow, his voice doesn't tremble when he goes on:]
Without a Meister I need to retreat. I'm taking him back to Death City.
[Fuuka continued to see if there was any other wounds that Sara might have. The bleeding hasn't quite stopped but it has slowed down. The question of asking what happened raced through her head but she had to keep it to herself. It was funny, she thought, that she planning on becoming a doctor and finally got a chance to experience it. She pondered about a situation like this before but it was difficult.
What could she say to him?]
His...his bleeding hasn't stopped but I have slowed it down. He's...still breathing.
Then his injuries will need to be bound first. Can you do that? [That was to the girl. He looked at Sasuke.] We need to wait a few moments to give the bleeding a chance to slow down even more. Constant moving will keep the injuries open and increase his bloodloss.
[Gai studied the young ninja for a few moments. Sasuke was clearly strugging, and Gai wasn't sure that it was shock anymore, not after the exclamation. Fully aware that he could get pummeled, Gai stepped closer and gently put his arms around Sasuke in a careful hug.]
[at first, with his attention once more on the girl and his meister, he's confused as to what gai is doing, only becoming aware of his sudden proximity when it's too late to stop it before it happens. the touch is light, but even for it's tentativeness, is hugely oppressive.
no. this isn't what he wants. he doesn't want pity. he doesn't eyes that feel sorry for him and comfort that is empty.
sasuke steps back in the same moment his bloodied hands connect with gai's chest, creating distance with a firm shove. the look he gives the man is unquestionably hunted, a cornered animal. i don't believe you. he doesn't glance away, even when he addresses the medic, perhaps half as a warning. don't touch me.]
[She was trying but the cuts were just too deep. It would take a while for it to stop bleeding. She managed to wrap most of the wounds but it just wouldn't stop. She didn't want to fail, she wouldn't let this person die in front of her. She just wouldn't.]
We just need to wait for his body to heal. I stopped most of the bleeding but it just won't stop.
[Gai searches Sasuke's eyes, glad for not the first time that the sharingan can't be used here. He can safely do this. Gai's own expression is calm. It's good to see that Sasuke's not in shock, but he's a bit concerned about the fearful look the young man has. Regardless of what Sasuke will (and has somewhat) become, it was due to him being a hurt boy.]
She is doing all she can.
[As she spoke Gai moved back, kneeling next to Saralegui. His fingers went again to the other man's pulse point before he gently opened Saralegui's eyelids to look at his pupils. Was it safe to move him? Gai wished he could still sense chakra. Without it he couldn't tell as much about Saralegui's condition. He frowned after a moment, sitting on his heels and nodding.]
Thank you... I am sorry. I do not know your name.
[He looked up at Sasuke.]
Can you carry him on your back? Are you tall enough? You could move him with less jostling that way, and it is important not to jostle too much.
[although the older nin's gaze is searching and not an attack, sasuke continues staring him defiantly down until the man moves away. whether or not it's a victory, the boy doesn't care, so long as their attention is where it should be.
he doesn't move, save the dip of his chin, to watch their movements. had he been any younger, he wouldn't be tall enough to carry the king in that manner. it's a fleeting thought, and sasuke isn't sure where it comes from, so it shoves it away.]
Yes. [impatience in his tone, and he steps back toward them, nearly crowding the small space created by too many people in the room. it was enough. that girl couldn't do anything else for him, and sasuke wasn't going to waste anymore time.] Just give him to me.
[That was the wrong choice of words but there was no way she was going to let him take his partner let that. He needed to heal first! Out of all times, she really wished that she had her Persona with her. Juno would quickly all of the remaining sounds Sara had left. She knew that he was going to leave for Death City but...in this condition?]
If there is nothing else you can do and the bleeding will take time to stop, then Saralegui must be gotten back to the city. He has lost a great deal of blood and at the very least needs stitches. I could do some stitching here, but there are people who can fully close his wounds, I believe, in the city. Unless you think that he has the time to let the bleeding stop naturally?
[He'd shifted as if to move away, but watched Fuuka.]
You are the medic. I cannot sense him, here. What you say, we will follow.
[Sasuke got a calm glance at that. He wasn't entirely sure Sasuke would listen, but Gai would do what was needed to help Saralegui.]
[he didn't know, he couldn't sense it, and he couldn't see it without his sharingan. but he didn't care. why was discussion even happening? a blind man could see the king was dying, half his blood was dripping down sasuke's own stomach. if they waited for the bleeding to stop here it would be too late, and the thought clawed at sasuke's mind like a disease.]
[For a moment, Fuuka wanted to say something to him but she couldn't. Sara was dying but could they make it in time to Death City? Would he be okay by then? What if something happened in Death City when they arrive? She knew that the city would be fine but the last time she went on a mission, something did. She just wasn't too sure.
Sasuke! [His voice was stern.] You cannot sense that. I cannot sense that. You will listen to her.
[It was a very good thing to see Sasuke caring, but it would not do for the boy to lose self-control any more. The girl wasn't doing much speaking to Gai, but he couldn't blame her when Sasuke was so clearly distraught. Gai addressed her again anyway.]
If you think he cannot be moved, then we will stitch the wounds here. Say what must be done and it will be.
[gai interrupted, addressed him like he had some kind of right to do so, and it was sheer, weakening willpower that stopped the uchiha from physically lashing out. he felt like everything he'd carefully constructed was peeling away with each second that ticked by. with each pump of sara's heart that pushed more of his life out of him.]
It doesn't take a genius to figure out! [it's all but a roar, and surely if there wasn't so much chaos, sasuke would have drawn attention. it wasn't often he lost his cool. but here she was, going on about belief when belief had nothing to do with it, and this green bastard was agreeing with her.]
That injury will take more than stitches. [even if he hadn't seen the attack, he'd seen the results. the gaping wound in sara's chest was burned into his mind the same way naruto strung up in that prison was.] We're wasting time!
AHHH, I'm so sorry for the delay!ohmyjunoOctober 12 2011, 00:23:42 UTC
[It's been a while since she's been this firm but she was a little unsure about her decision. Was it because she didn't want to have all that weight on her and to put Sara's life on her partner? Or was it both? She didn't want to be selfish, she just couldn't. However, the wound just won't heal. She had Gai who was willing to back her up but...in the end, it really was up to her wasn't it?
With a gulp, she nervously looked at Gai and back to Sasuke]
As you said before, stitches won't help and it will all depend on his body to heal those wounds. Perhaps, Death City will do a better job.
[With that said, she stood up and let Sasuke take him. Was she making the right choice? She just wasn't sure but he wasn't her partner was he? If Sasuke really did trust Sara, then everything would be fine.]
If you do trust him, then ....I hope everything will be okay.

But he's still bleeding, is that a good idea?

...How...how much do you believe in your partner?
