Clare's smile changed, it could actually be called a happy expression this time, without skating around several unhappy notes to it. Still, she couldn't tell if he was being genuine or if he was hitting on her, cause he was pretty... direct over the network. Everyone was being nice to her, and barring Zidane she wasn't able to see an ulterier motive.

Not that she minded that motive exactly, just she wasn't used to it.

She shifted a little and looked at him, "Why are you being nice to me?" If it was simply a ploy to get a date she'd at least like to know. The question didn't carry any acusation or harsh tone, a simple question on an odd subject.

Clare looked at him, his reaction, any sign it was a put-on or real emotions. She didn't like this little voice of paranoia in her head, courtesy of the bad taste of her last relationship... and other things. Still it was there and his initial greeting to her on the network didn't help.

"I got out of a bad relationship at home, so if this is all some plan to try and make out with me or something..." she stopped there, an awkward place to stop on an already awkward accusation, "Look... you're really nice but I can't shake that it's- that." She wasn't making eye contact and the cadence of her words grew choppier as she continued.
