Cheshire arrived early to the party he decided to crash so that he could be very helpful.

Helpful in driving the people actually trying to set things up crazy.

He pounced on balloons, popping them, sat on the folded table cloths, chased people's feet, and even tied a few shoelaces together. Aren't parties fun?

By the time everyone had left and the apartment was thoroughly cleaned by Gai and Monk, it was well after midnight. There was little point in going on patrol now, and someone else was covering for them. This would give Karkat time to unpack more of his things at his own pace, and they could at least arrive at the morning training early.

Selendis really hadn't moved out from her corner by the balcony, mostly out of comfort, but if he needed help she wouldn't hesitate to do so. So for now she sat with her legs folded under her, watching Karkat rearrange his 'hive'.

"I must say that Maito Gai did his job well. There is no trace that anyone else was even here." Aside from the trash bags piled up outside the front door, anyways.

"Yeah..." Karkat hated to admit it, but she was right. Gai had done a great job, and together they'd been able to muscle Monk out the door or something. Shame about patrol, but Roy had been here too so at least they wouldn't even have to explain themselves.

He picks up a terrarium with a small live crab in it, which he'd hidden in his room during the party, and sets it up in the main living area. "I hate to admit it, but the people who actually bothered to stay and clean didn't do a completely terrible job."

Selendis looked over the terrarium with mild interest. Keeping pets wasn't something her people did, and the wildlife tended to stay wild. She didn't understand the purpose of removing the crab from its natural habitat, but Karkat liked it, so that was enough for her.

"Despite the intrusion, they left no unfair burden," she said, turning her head towards the open balcony. She longed to stretch her legs, but she had one more thing to take care of with her partner. She'd let him tend to the pet crab first, though.

Karkat wasn't a pet person either and didn't fully understand the point of having a tiny Earth crab inflicted on him, but it was reminiscent of someone he'd looked after back home. Besides, the crab had been a present from his best friend, so he could grudgingly appreciate the sentiment.

He set the whole business up on a table in the living area, then glanced over his shoulder at Selendis.

"You know, you don't have to force yourself to stay in here. You look like some idiot jammed the wrong toy in a dollhive or something."
