"Bludgeon. Right." Leo hoped that the other couldn't hear the hysteric note in his voice as he inwardly cringed at the idea of letting somebody that close, scarred of what the other might get to know when they tried and resonated. What if it wasn't just enough but successful? What if he recognized him as the monster that Leo really was, without all the carefully constructed layers of humanity and morals that he wore like a mask so that he could bear looking in the mirror? (A mask that good he had even believed into it himself until it had been torn away from him that forcefully that day...) The human husk had been broken and Leo still didn't dare to wonder what it was that had emerged from it. That, what he was-

Alucard had gotten half a step too close as that he could just shrug it off and not care about it anymore.

There were so many things that could go wrong with this even without the kishin eggs closing in on them that it made him want to scream and just run away, but there was no time for that anymore. So he grinned and played cool, turning towards the dhampir so that he could do what he'd been told to. "No worries. We're getting out of here."

His voice was calm and firm this time, heralding his decision to stay and fight.

As soon as the weapon had taken form Leo grabbed it, raising it carefully before rearranging his grip and slipping into a fighting stance. When the first one strikes from behind he is ready, swinging the sharp tool like a baton against its shoulder while he lowers his balance and skates back at the same time, somehow successfully managing to get the first kishin egg between himself and its comrade that was also about to charge.

Leo tensed momentarily at the sensation touching the other's weapon form gave him, stance weary and eyes darting as he tried not to keep any of their opponents an opening.

"Really? nice knowing that.", his voice was laced with sarcasm, though it was mostly aimed at the situation they'd found themselves in rather than the well-meant advice. When the next attack came he was ready, ducking beneath a hit that could have taken his head from his shoulders and skidded once more behind the monster, sticking the blade lightning-fast through the junction of it's knees - and froze in surprised horror as the thing stumbled forward with a yowl and took the sword with it.

"HUH?!!"

If the situation wouldn't have been that dire Leo wold have laughed at the dhampir's reaction. Curing under his breath and with a "Coming!!" on his lips he revolved on one leg, bringing the other down on the kishin egg's head when it tried to turn around to get him after all. Accepting a badly aimed hit he lunged forward and grabbed hold of the sword again, pulling it free. The kishin egg shrieked again, but Leo left it no chance, using the momentum of his own force to get out of it's reach once more before swiveling around again and bringing the medieval weapon down on the monster's neck.

A nasty crack and a red floating soul rewarded his effort.

Stepping back, Leo grimaced at Alucard eating that ...thing as if it were the most normal thing in the world before returning to his side. Hands. Side. Whatever.

"Thanks...", communicating like this felt strange and he couldn't get himself to feel happy at the praise, not if it was for a life successfully ended. Monster or not, life shouldn't be that... cheap. Not thrown away like that. Sighing he tensed once more, body easily slipping into readiness for battle even when his heart wasn't into it. "I'm not sure how good that'll work, but I can try. ...Sorry for not being somebody better."

Leo shook his head at those words, somehow managing to smile reassuringly and grin sadly at the same time. "It's not as if I haven't been in a lot of battles or done bad stuff before. Hell, I must've sent more guys to the hospital than plenty of adult gangsters together! But. Killing-- I always thought that I'd be better than that.

...

I'm not going to break or run, no worries. Where do you think is the other going to come from?" He did not mention that he had killed before and liked it.

"Blind spot. Yeah. Great." The Half muttered more to himself than the dhampir-turned-blade, as he tried to keep moving in a slow circle around himself in order to prevent any spots to be used. Realizing how useless it was - his machines were really not meant for stationary battles and he was giving himself more openings than he could hope to close that way -, Leo cursed, backing up against the wall of the next building. "Why can't this be some nice deadly race...?"

Leo screamed as he was suddenly attacked from above, jumping away from the wall and almost cutting his own ear off as he struggled wildly with both hands to get the sudden nasty from above off.
