I'm looking up refurbished laptops. I hope to buy one I can expect to use for 3-4 years, spending $500 to $800 (I want to make the purchase sometime between now and Thanksgiving break). I'm looking for a nice processor, one of the new ones. I'm hoping to have WiFi capabilities and an ethernet port(I really should have both). Sound quality doesn't matter too much, but I'd like it to have a good sound card so I can get speakers and use it as a media center for my music, at least. A CD/DVD drive and a CD burner would be excellent; I don't really need a DVD burner. A webcam is not essential, but it'd be a neat tool just to say I have it; a web microphone would be cool, too, but if I really wanted to chat over the internet I'd either type or buy a SONY skype peripheral. At least 512 MB RAM(I think that's the number, if it's not don't make fun!) and a 40 GB hard disk. My danged PS2 has a 40 gig hard disk, why shouldn't my laptop? Harumph. The screen size doesn't matter too much to me, neither does the weight. Security features=important and its design and look=not important. A warranty longer than 30 days would be neat, too.
I got my tongue stiches out! I still don't have full mobility of the tongue, but I will someday. Strrretch.
I got up to Connecticut with Judy as early as August 11, 8 AM. Eee! Makes me nervous and excited. Gotta get packed. Go Hartford (Insert mascot here)s, WOO! YEAH!
I also might be staying a few nights with a gay friend o' mine since Judy has to do a family reunion thing, which makes my dad nervous. You see, my dad figures homo+homo=crazynightofstickyfun, but this guy's just a cool Catholic dude who happens to be gay. Nothin's gonna happen. c.c; Geez, dad, don't wor-ry.
I'm more nervous about what I'm going to be eating the next three weeks. I'm going to be bringin' up some ramen and soymilk money, for sure, and probably some lentils, beans, and rice- ACK, I don't have any spices to cook with! Oh no, my babies. ;_; Spices cost so much, too; how can vegan food taste good without spices!
I didn't think of this, yet. Hrn. Well, a lot of vegan msg-free miso Ramen and those vegan soups for me. I probably won't be eating much the first two weeks; I don't want to be too much of a bother for Judy and Mike!
And I wonder when Ryan's getting there? I haven't heard from him, but then again, I haven't phoned him, either. Of course, I don't like phoning people in general. :X It'll be neat to see him up there.
And Mike, and Judy, and my new teachers and peers. And my dorm, ee! And roomate, hmn.
Oh, by the way, it's oppressively hot outside. Hah, crazy.
