I listened to my copy of Led Zeppelin IV while I was doing homework, and every now and then I just had to stop, close my eyes, and listen to it. It's just that good. I honestly hadn't really listened through that album before. I basically listened to the ones I knew (Black Dog, Rock & Roll, When The Levee Breaks). Misty Mountain Hop is cool, what a neat progression. Four Sticks is fun with 5/4, I like it. Going To California is a really beautiful song; I hadn't listened to it before, as dumb as that sounds. When I listened to ALL of When the Levee Breaks, I started digging it a lot more. Bonham just lays down this killer 4-second fill and fits it in with the music. That's what makes Zepellin Zeppelin. They take amazing chops, the blues, great grooves, and they combine them all seamlessly. They're a lot more musically mature on this one, I really like it. So I think this is their best album by far. Great stuff.
