So a lot has been going on lately.
Basically I leave in about 8 days for England. It's literally right around the corner and I'm not ready to go yet.
This past weekend was fun, Justin and his brothers went to NYC for about 5 days, so I spent the night on the night they left and helped them pack up the car, then I got the entire apartment to myself for the whole weekend. It was great. Then on the night they got back, I made penne and shrimp alfredo (LOTS of it) with some kick ass garlic bread for dinner and we all ate together. While he was in New York he bought me some gifts, including a bottle of Tommy Girl perfume. He's such a sweet guy, he's pretty much my best friend, I'm gonna miss him and he's made it pretty clear that he's really gonna miss me too. It's gonna be weird not having someone to talk to on the phone for hours at a time about really random shit.
I've gotten a lot of time in with friends too. I was able to go to App to visit Carly and Megan and Justin for a few days. It was beautiful up there. Plus I've gotten to spend a few nights hanging out with other neat people too. I even got to spend a little time with Michael and Eric. I'm gonna miss my dog :-(
My last day of work was really good, but kind of sad. I got a "goodbye and good luck" card and a cake, and everybody had really nice things to say and wished me luck and gave me big hugs. Tears.
I'm gonna miss a lot of stuff after I leave. The past couple of days I've spent my free time packing up my room and taking things down. I still have so much left to do too. Hopefully I'll be able to get it all done before I leave. I'm flying to the beach with Michael to see my grandparents for a couple of days. Oh yeah Michael got into the Navy (however he passed the drug test is beyond me) and leaves in the beginning of October. His test scores were really high so he's gotten a job as some kind of Navy Lawyer or something...I dunno. But anyway, I was supposed to be in Pitt this weekend too because Judy McCombs died and they're burrying her in Pitt (Amy and Mark McCombs mother for those of you who went to Vance). My mom was really sad, that was like her best friend.
I'm really excited about getting a bunch of new clothes to take with me over there. I have a brand new laptop now too.
So the artinerary(sp?) for my trip (so far) is:
Spend the whole day with Justin on Thursday and night to get our last few hours in together.
Then my flight leaves on Friday at 3:45 for Philidelphia. There's a layover in Philly till 8ish, then I fly from Philly to Manchester. The flight lands in Manchester at 8 AM, which means it'll really be about 3 AM or something on my time. Then I go through customs and exchange my money and all that shit. Then I buy a cell phone in Manchester, eat something, buy a train ticket from Machester to Lancaster (about 2 hours). By the time I make it into downtown Lancaster it will probably be liiiiike noonish so I'll probably grab a cab to the school and contact my "flat-mates" and then put my luggage away and get some food. Then I have an orientation type deal and the school has all sorts of stuff planned for "freshers" including a bar crawl social type thing. The next day I have to register for classes and then classes start on the 6th of October. Hopefully my body will adjust to all the changes by then and I'll be semi-normal.
I don't think I'll officially freak the fuck out until I'm on the plane over there. Right now its starting to hit me that I'm going but I still feel kind of numb and indifferent tyyypes. I dunno.
So this weekend I have to go shopping and finish up the last bit of paperwork, get some copies of documents made, and then watch football ALL day on Sunday with Justin and the guys.
I've lost another 5 pounds since the last time I wrote in this thing. The weight is coming off a lot slower than it was before, for obvious reasons, but it's kind of frustrating. But in the back of my head I know it's better to lose it that way anyway. Oh well. Hopefully I'll be able to control myself when I'm in England and won't gain back everything I lost. That would be a sad story.
I plan on making more frequent entries in this thing while I'm abroad. I'll be sure to note any crazy adventures or new things, for my readers' entertainment and my own reflection....
For now I gotta go make some dinner and relaaxxxxx.
