Wow, so I'm finally back in my room. I've been gone since, oh, 8:30 this morning. Yuk. What a long freakin day. Hey, I can use this blog-post to complain, can't I? Anyways. I have to stay up tonight laboring on a presentation that I'll be giving to my Lit and Style class tomorrow, all about my trip to Louisiana for the math conference. In a way, I'm glad I offered to give a presentation because I'm going over the math concepts/music theory terms that I was unfamiliar with, and I'm understanding more than I did when I came out of the conference. I think this stuff is interesting, anyways. I hope I don't get too carried away in my presentation, Dr. Gerber only gave me ten minutes.
I'm really uptight right now, I don't mean to be. Sorry everyone.
My examples went pretty well in theory today. Haha, in theory. "In theory ... they went well. In reality ..." No just kidding. Okay so maybe I'm a bit punchy ... Well anyways, my teacher listened of course, and complimented me, and asked if I'd do the examples for class next tuesday and thursday again. Okay, I said. I told Rick today that I think it's really good experience for me to be able to sort of run an aural skills class while the teacher is there helping, so that I get immediate feedback, and it's not for a grade or anything, which will be different than when a job is on the line. On the other hand, I do feel like Dr. Steinberg is pushing his job and his work off on me ... I did a lot of work for today's class. Atleast I'll have these examples for the future.
My lesson went really well tonight. I didn't think the Muczynski was that great, but by the end of the lesson, Mr. Andrews was praising my work (?) on it. Lol. I brought up the CPE Bach piece, and I think we're going to get to work on that soon. I'm happy with the way this semester is going. I'm so much more comfortable and happy in my lessons - big change since the terror I felt in freshman year. And on a side note, I'm getting better at trombone. I'm sounding better in band.
So I just remembered even more homework I have to do. ARRRGGGHHHHH. I have not stopped this semester ... I have not breathed, other than Louisiana ... I have not stopped .... ahhhhhhhhh ....
