Ahh, another late night, a little later than anticipated. Rick is still here, reading his way through Prey :) I hope he likes that book, he's read so much of it all today ...
I finished 1984 by Orwell. I'm not quite sure what I think of it. Obviously, it was meant to be disturbing. Of course, had I read it all at once, I might have a better concept of the book as a whole, but seeing as how I got bored of it over Christmas break and didn't pick it up again until this week ... it still made sense, but I don't quite know what my opinion is of it. It certainly wasn't a slaughter house V. There were a lot of messages, and Orwell is most definitly brilliant, but ... I'd read Slaughter House Five first if I were you. Kurt Vonnegut.
Today I went to the high school and visited Mr. Hull and Mr. V. Hear tell that Lanay dropped out of school! So it goes, I suppose. It was good to see them again, I hope to visit them atleast once more before I have to go back. I can't believe it's already early morning on Wednesday. Chris came down about an hour ago and asked me if I'd wake up early in the morning and drive him out to walmart. Grrrrrrrrrr. I don't have any money for gas, so I hope he's paying that way. I need to really sleep in atleast one of these mornings ...
I also went out to MCC with Rick and we both signed up for Calc Three. I'm kinda looking forward to it. Considering I just skipped over it in my math degree and went right on to higher math .... it might be nice to come back down to earth and do tangible problems again. I may need a little brushing up on my calc skills though. I have several calc books to work with, hopefully I can prepare myself enough to jump right in. I don't particularly want to go to MCC, but it was cheap and I need the course and I'll be getting four credits.
Went out to Borders too and bought a new journal. It's actually the same one as I got for my sister last year. I'm going to write my music thoughts down in it, so that I don't have to blah blah blah about them here, for those who could care less about them. I'm sure I'm going to continue to ramble about music, but not as much. My physical journal will be a place for that :) But I can't hand write nearly as fast as I type! That's right, what do you think I actually have time to be writing in a journal? No no, I never spend more than about three minutes on a blog entry ...
Saw my sister Carolyn sing a solo tonight in the voice recital of the show choir members. She was AWESOME. I really think my sister is going to be one of the most capable and talented women that I know. Her singing far surpasses what I was ever able to do, she's a better actress, she can write better and speak better ... I admire her so much for who she is and I certainly think she's brilliant. I get so proud when I see her sing. I'm really glad I got to. Okay I don't mean to brag so much about my sister but I'm so proud ...
Okay time to think about getting some sleep. I love being home on break.
