All of the points are very true.. But I think it's just a reminder that we as humans tend to forget that all creatures have what we call emotions. I think a lot of people just look at them as a pet or a toy, not a member of their family.

I spoil all of my animals, dogs and cats alike :-p. People fus sometimes because I call them my children but oh well.
