Les Paul died.

Okay, so he was 94, but still! The inventor of the electric guitar!

Damn. Willie DeVille, and now Les Paul.

Willy DeVille died yesterday. I know, most people will read that and say, "Who?" He wrote the song from the ending credits of The Princess Bride, "Storybook Love." That's the most a lot of people know of him, for some reason.

I imagine most people have forgotten, but along with being National Poetry Month, April is also International Guitar Month and National Frog month. Back in 2005, I nominated Bob Dylan's rendition of "Froggie Went A-Courtin'" to be the theme song for April, but no one seemed to take me seriously.

Jeff Healey died yesterday of cancer at age 41.

Miss Orchid likes being in the bathroom with me so much that the other night when I was going in there, she raced through the kitchen so fast she lost control on the linoleum and skidded into the doorframe, carreened off that and into the bathroom.
