Bye, bye, Blago
Rod Blagojevich has been arrested at his north side Chicago home by the Effa Bee Eye on charges of corruption. He was trying to sell Obama's Senate seat, and also allegedly threatened to illegally withhold state aid from the Tribune Corporation in it's attempt to sell Wrigley Field.
Can I get a "w00t"?
I openly admit that I voted for him the year he won the governorship (I was going to say the year he moved into the Governor's Mansion, but then, he didn't, did he?), but I did not vote for him the next time. the_original1 (who has never voted for him) and I have been saying since the last election that if he won again, we would leave the state. It's the same thing we said after George Ryan won. I guess we don't have to move.
I'm so excited, and happy, and at the same time pissed as hell. The Great State of Illinois does not deserve this. It doesn't need it. I really, really hope things get better from here.
And I'd just like to say, Obama wants to bring Chicago-style politics to the White House? This is supposed to be a good thing?
