I got a call from my sister. Mom was on the 'phone at the time with a senior living center, asking about being put on their waiting list, and what sorts of places they have available, and how much, and so on. My sister was worried this was something my brother (the one who was in jail yesterday morning) had put her up to, with some sort of "nefarious plot" in mind. So I told her, no. This was something Mom and I have talked about for a long time, and I've finally convinced her to look into it. So that's okay, then. Especially since my sister and nephew had apparently been thinking about calling a family meeting to decide whether we need to have Mom "evaluated," because Mom didn't quite remember something that happened a couple weeks ago just like my sister remembered it (Mom not having been there couldn't have anything to do with it, of course).
Excuse me?
Grandpa had Alzheimer's, or something similar, but Mom is not showing signs of it. She doesn't need to go into a home. She needs to move into someplace where none of her children can live with her, is all.
