Hopefully, you are all clever enough that you wouldn't be drawn in by this, but just in case . . .
There is apparently a scam related to on-line filing of income taxes. I don't know much about it, but an e-mail just went around the office saying, FYI: I was told that there is a scam now that after you go online to file your tax return you will get an email saying to go to irs.com to make a correction. The site asks for your personal information. Steve said that this is on the news tonight.
The IRS website is
http://www.irs.gov. No U.S. government websites (to my knowledge) are .com. Any site that claims to have your personal information doesn't need you to tell it to them! You ask them for confirmation, never the other way around!
