So, believe it or not, I actually learned something insightful at church today. They introduced the lesson, 'learning to love yourself' or something extremely cheesy, and i rolled my eyes and sat back for another monotonous lecture with a tearful conclusion. But it turned out kinda cool. So, we're taught to love God above all others first, right, cool.
So next we should love our neighbors as ourselves, but heres the key: if we dont love ourselves, we are uncapable of loving others. and when we dont love, or are unhappy with ourselves, we are always thinking about ourselves, and seem to everyone else to be selfish and self-centered, but in fact, we are actually just unhappy with ourselves. Thats kinda weird to think about. I had never looked at it that way. So maybe if we dont feel sorry for people, or feel apathetic, its just because we dont like how we are.
Anyways, I thought it was interesting.
