Summary: It was usually very easy to deal with phone conversations he wanted to listen in on. Most people had to think about what was said to them in order to formulate a response, so he could get the gist of everything from the mind of the person glued to the phone. Not so with Bella. Even still, he’d have been fine if Tanya’d had the sense to replace her 1930’s phone with something more up-to-date. But she hadn’t. So he was stuck listening to half a conversation, just like anyone else would have to do, and it was irritating beyond belief.
