Warnings: Slight undertones of slash. /first time doing this, i'm sorry if anything is wrong.
Salazar,
I hope you know that this isn't - wasn't - easy for me. I hadn't planned on this happening, Sal. When I first met you, there was something different about you. Something that I found myself interested in, something I wanted to know more about.
You were so interesting, Sal. You were dark - mysteriously so. I wanted to know you more than I already had, which should say something as I didn't know anything about you. But I had a mission Sal - a mission I wish I never took.
I told you there was something I found interesting in you, Sal - but I knew you were different. I knew your opinions were vastly different from my own. You are Salazar Slytherin and I am Godric Gryffindor. You came from a family who wanted nothing to do with Muggleborn children. Despite all of that, you managed to break away from your parents views. Sure, some things stuck from your parents. But you were amazing, Sal.
And somehow, somehow you noticed me. I never expected you to notice me, Salazar. I never expected any of this to happen.
I - Sal, if I had known how close we would become, I never would have done what I did. I would have - I would have remained true, Sal.
I was in the wrong. I know this. I should have trusted you Sal. I should have realized that you would never hurt me, and most importantly, I should have never done anything to lose your own trust in me.
Merlin, Sal, I miss you already. I shouldn't - I know this. You know this. We all know that the 'great and mighty Godric Gryffindor' should not miss his 'archnemesis' Salazar Slytherin.
But I do Sal. I miss you like - like no comparison could ever live up to, truthfully. I can't help but wonder, Sal.
Do you miss me? Do you hate me for everything I did to you? I wish you would say - or think - no, but I fear you do. It's a frightening thought, Salazar.
I know I hate myself.
I - I will never stop loving you though, Salazar. Despite everything I've done, I can only hope the same occurs with you.
Godric.

Title: Two Paintings
Words:360
Rating: G
Warnings: None
“Did you see the new students for this year, Salazar?” Godric Gryffindor ask amidst his painting. Sure he was fond of his sword but somedays he longed for a painter to come and add an overstuffed chair to his background.
“Of course, you ask every year like we don’t watch the sorting from the ceiling,” Salazar lowered his book, sitting in his chair that he gladly taunted Godric with, for the last several hundred years, “In fact, one came into my house that I am highly interested in.”
“Oh, I haven’t heard you say that in years,” Godric’s interest was peaked indeed.
“Tom Riddle. I can tell, he is a descendant of mine. I don’t think the boy knows it yet, but it is nice knowing that family is walking these halls again.”
“I hope you find a way to talk to him when he is ready.”
________________________________________________
“Salazar, did you hear, Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts!”
“Yes, I did. I even asked the sorting hat to put him in my house.”
“Why would you do that? He needs to learn courage to face the trails coming to him.”
“Yes, but he will need cunning too. In fact he will need to learn the traits of all the houses. But I had a reason. Harry Potter carries a part of my line in him.”
“What do you mean? I thought Tom was the last of your line?”
“He is Godric, but Harry Potter carries a part of Tom’s soul with him. Harry Potter will need to be taught how to deal with the soul of his enemy so close to him.”
“Such a small boy, to carry such a large burden.”
“Indeed. And the biggest burned of all, to save the world from Riddle.”
“I am sorry, my friend, that you will have to see the last of your descendants, like this. If only he would listen to us and not to the stories told about us.”
“Every epic story needs a villain, and I happen to hold that title in the story of our lives. No one wants to hear the truth from two stuff old paintings.”
oooOOOooo
