Assateague Island

Spent the day barefoot, knee-deep in the clean, clear waters of Assateague. Found baby green crabs, Maryland blue crabs, a baby horseshoe crab, and a baby turtle. Learned a lesson about pulling sea snails out of the ocean, saw my first ever sea cucumber, and ignored people asking if I wanted sunscreen.
I have never worn sunscreen or tanning oil a day in my life. 
And as I apply aloe to my shoulders and neck this afternoon, I begin to question why that is.
