Uni started today, yay. Managed to sit through all my classes without fidgeting too much. Apparently one of the units I'm doing had a 40% fail rate last year so I can't wait to start studying for that. I don't even know if that was sarcasm or not. Anyway thanks to the beauty of O-Week I got free Lipton Ice Tea, condoms and like 5 Sunsilk showbags, hurrah!
Also got to check out Queer Space with Em, some room on campus for gay ppl to hang out comfortably. If I ever need a microwave, Mortein or a dozen reams of pink A4 paper (the stereotypes are true!) I now know where to go. It's ironic tho that a society designed to allow ppl freedom of expression has a poster on the wall listing all the topics you're NOT allowed to discuss in the room, eg sex. You know what else worries me? The fact that the Queer Space has:
(a) a door restricted by security code access;
(b) a whole bunch of pamphlets on domestic violence right next to the entrance.
Maybe they've had bad experiences in the past of gay ppl breaking into the lounge and bashing up anyone talking about forbidden topics. It's all very queer.
