Inside Looking Outside

The gardens of
an all American girl
look quaint
next to the burning statues.
What was once admire
is now the poster child
for all the muddy personalities.
Have you heard
a warning bell sound
from the questions in your heart?
Duel souls
fighting for a birthing right
that will surely not be their own.

I wear your name
in my dreams
and hope to wake a little more full.
WIll you remember the gardens
when my ashes
flow out over Mt. Kahtadin?
I mentally double check
my pulse
just to backtrack to deafening bells.
Someone save me
as I drift into the arms
of an unknown capacity.

I remember
those days of American hopefuls
watching the Summer Olympics
winning every moment inside.
T-Minus nineteen medals
and I'am still lonely.
The statues
remind us that sins are bitter
but there is no need
to carry on that legacy.

pregnancy, double, love
