Barack Obama is being criticized for plagiarizing speeches he's made lately during campaign stops. He has 2 speeches that have parts that are very similar to the MA Governor's campaign speeches. You can see the videos below.
Obama and the governor, Devel Patrick (what kind of name is that for a politician!) say they are friends and it's no big deal. There are also remarks he's made that are pulled from John Edwards campaign speeches from this and his last presidential run. It seems one of his campaign workers worked for all 3 at points in his career, still he says it's not important. But as a voting democrat (and someone who did look at Obama's campaign before I made any decisions) it seems important to me.
Obama basically wraps himself in his words like the American flag. He's portrayed as this great orator and I agree, he gives very powerful speeches. But to me, seeing these "occurances" it's sort of a let down. I mean, these videos kind of show that powerful speech making and pattern of speech he has. They aren't just him saying, "I want to be the President of the United States," you know.
Now, Obama's camp is saying that Hillary's lifted things from his speeches and I've read them, they mostly seemed like more general statements that most people could make and it not be on purpose. Maybe I'm just being biased, I don't know.
I also found out that his "Yes, We Can" slogan has been stolen from Bob, the Builder haha Hey, that Bob's got a lot of fan! What with his building that stage for Elton John's performance and all. Unfortunately (depending on what side you're on), those fans can't vote :p
