it's hard to imagine life without electricity, but yet the recent winter storm knocked out power at our house for 12 hours. without electricity, there is no heat, and that really sucked. what sucks even more is that there are some households that are still without power. x(
safety reminder for those people with emergency generators to have them located outdoors where the exhaust will not be lethal. also, have a switch that restricts the generated power from powering the power lines which may injure electrical workers fixing the line
remember to also size the generator accordingly since overloading the generator may damage the motor permanently on the generator
electricity is something most modern humans cannot do without, but even more important is our memory. my grandmother seems to have a really bad memory recently, at least according to me. i wish there was something i could do about it. i've heard that listening to music helps in many physiological ways including relaxing the arterial walls of our vascular system.
so i guess we should listen to our ipods and listen to music that makes us happy. remember to not blast the volume so as to save your eardrums. going deaf is counterproductive when the objective is to keep our mental acuity sharp (see previous post talking about hearing and memory)
