I was at the ranch over the weekend. Even though it was relatively cold and rainy, it was still lovely.
However I felt a small jolt of pain in the inside bend of my arm all Sunday. It felt like i banged it and it was probably black and blue. As i had long sleeves on all day, i couldn't see. That evening when I was changing shirts (i was there for a birthday party), i saw on my arm a dark black spot where the pain was coming from. The spot had tiny legs. It was a tick that buried itself into my arm. Almost instantly I yanked the fucker out. I hear that you need to do that carefully in order to pull the entire thing out or its bite my remain on whatever its biting into. Maybe it was my will, but I got the entire body out. It didn't look like a deer tick, the type most commonly associated with lyme disease, but it still freaked me out. I have no idea how the tick got on me. I never when into the brush. Even if i happened across a plant with this tick on it, how didn't end up halfway up my arm under a sleeve (ticks tend to latch onto whatever body part they happened to luck on to).
Anyway, I called my doctor who prescribed a one-time dosage of antibiotics, took some and I almost fainted for about a half hour afterwords. I guess I don't react well to those things.
So if I have lyme disease, I'll start having fevers in about a week. I don't need this right now.
