Hey, fic-related question. If you want to eventually be a doctor and want to go to college on the West Coast, which school would you go to?

UCLA has a huge and (I think) quite excellent medical program.

Yes, yes of course it does. Just like it has an excellent medical school, as well, I'm sure.

Heh, my first thought was, "Doctor of what?" :)

UCLA is good for medical, but for other sciences, UC Berkley and Stanford are da bomb. :D

Yeah, I definitely meant medical doctor. Didn't even occur to me to specify, unfortunately.

I note that you say 'eventually'..if your character is an undergraduate, you could send them just about anywhere with a decent sciences program- they'd just go somewhere else for medical school.

That's very true. However, most of the people I know, if they can do it, go to the school they want for their graduate program while they're still in undergrad, so I figured it was a good place to start.

I was going to point out what the person just said above and add the caveat that, from what I know, many graduate schools dislike accepting students from their own undergraduate programs, ie: Stanford is not fond of, saw, accepting students from their own undergraduate programs to their law school. Which is not to say it doesn't happen, but it's certainly discouraged. I don't know if it's different for medical programs.

Huh. I did not know that. As I said, I know a lot of people who go to a school for the undergrad program in hopes of getting accepted to the graduate school they want. I'd lay odds that they don't know that, either. Thanks for the tip.
