Ahhhh, at least the team will *talk* to him now. I hope John can feel close to them again. Poor guy, so out of the loop and out of the family. *sniffle*
Well, I haven't posted (or, y'know, written) the part after Present, Imperfect, so I suppose you'll just have to take my word that they're talking now. Going on missions, even.
And yeah, he's out of the loop. But they're all trying and so is he, and they'll all get there eventually. I always have faith in the four of them. Especially when I'm writing it and know how it ends.
I'm normally a very linear writer. When I'm working on a story- a longish one, or a series, not just a short scribble I just sat down and put to paper- I have the whole thing planned out. The level of detail with which it's planned depends on the story, but I always know the beginning, the end, and how I plan to get from the former to the latter. This particular series I have ridiculously planned out, since the last part has a very particular and relatively complicated structure set up for it, and I have to have every scene planned out to have the tone and theme for each to fit the structure. It's been driving me crazy working on it and I've made ridiculous amounts of notes, but it's a good kind of crazy, and it's the kind of frustration I enjoy.
On the other hand, that's why I enjoy writing Blue so much. It doesn't really have a specific beginning, or an ending, and it's about as far away from linear as you can get- so it's a break from my usual style, a relaxing authorial vacation, so to speak.
Wow. Hehe. The most i do is know where it's going to be set so i do some research into hotels or local stories or *whatever*... *which i can get a little crazy over, i'll admit*
But i haven't done an outline since highschool, i don't think. And i'm always pleased and surprised if a 'theme' emerges, heh. Funny how different it is for everybody.
