Summary: AU from Conversion, where John's mind is saved from the retrovirus but his body stays the same. Not long after that they lose contact with Earth and have to fend for themselves.
Notes: This is a big, sprawling AU that I'm writing just for fun. It stretches out over about two, two-and-a-half years. I messed with the canon timeline quite a bit in some places, so that the events of some episodes occur out of order. I did this because I'm a lazy writer and it's easier to move an episode to a different time than it is think up an interesting plot twist.
This is a compilation post. You have two options as to how to read it. You can start from the beginning with the first post, and read the pieces in the same order I wrote them. I'd reccomend this, as it reads much, much more seamlessly. However, it's that doesn't work for you for whatever reason, I'll keep this post updated with all of the pieces, in chronological order as they occur in the linear timeline of the story. Got it? They were the perfect team.
There were alot of drawbacks to his new "condition," as Elizabeth oh-so-tactfully phrased it.
"We really have to do something about your territorial issues."
Rodney was avoiding him.
The culling beam deposited them in the middle of a wide, rocky beach.
"Damn well took you long enough, Colonel."
Rodney knew everyone was giving him weird looks. He just didn't care.
Radek liked working with McKay, though he'd never tell the man that.
Ronon didn't like being away from Rodney longer than he had to.
On the surface, it was an ordinary day.
Ronon hesitated before he lifted his hand to knock.
After the celebration was over, Laura went looking for Carson.
Afterwards, they all went back to Rodney's room.
"Would you please explain to me what you are doing with my barbarian in your greenhouse?"
"I'm pretty sure that under the circumstances, you can call me Lorne."
Rodney loved the way John looked.
This was Pegasus, after all. Weirder shit happened every day.
Nick was practically bouncing on his way out of the mess hall.
She was pretty sure none of their people were blue.
"I got scars and everything."
Vala had been fascinated with Ronon from the moment she saw him.
The lab was half-empty when Sam got there.
