I feel sort of awkward writing remixes of other people's fics, like I'm being presumptuous or something. But there's this remixathon at numb3rs100 and I desperately wanted to participate, so I found this lovely fic by melissima and wrote a little something off of it. And now I'm posting it immediately before I lose my nerve, ha.

It's like slow motion or swimming underwater, how she feels outside of herself, like she's not in control of the words spilling out of her mouth. She tries to leave but the tray traps her in place and something breaks inside her, making her eyes go blurry and her face grow hot. She starts to bring a hand up to cover her mouth but his arm comes around her shoulders, pressing her face into the warm skin above his collar where she smells his sweat and remnant cologne.
"Shh," his voice comes, low. "It's okay."
But she knows it's not.
