Did creation come from nothing or from chaos or has it ever been? Is it historical or eternal? Is it an endless repeating process or will creation end in time? Is the act of creation the beginning of the end or the fulfillment of a previous end? Important contemporary discussions on creator and creativity, creation and evolution, chaosmos and ecology, design and social constructions of gender and race will be brought in as the class examines the contributions of tradition, science and contemporary theologies to questions of beginnings and becomings.
