So, this really gets at what is so amazing about this episode. You almost forget, by the chilling end of it, that part of Dan's shock and dismay comes from his self-realization, as well as the external events--even most of it, given his particular personality.

But this also shows the other side of Dan, loving, upbeat, doing something unnoticed and unselfish. Lovely vignette.

The Bobbi Bernstein thing really shook him badly - it's probably part of what led to his nervous breakdown, and Rebecca, of course, didn't help. But Dan really does love Isaac, and I don't think he would have been able to rest until he knew for sure whether Isaac would be okay.

Which reminds me of one of the most amazing line deliveries in all of TV, in my opinion. If I knew how to do GIFs, I'd do one of this scene. As it is, I may have to do a blurry icon, anyway.

Dan: He's such a bad guy, Rebecca. I'm sorry if that hurts you, but I know these things...I'm not that good myself.
