Finally (FINALLY!) watched Star Trek: Reboot and it is as awesome as I've heard. I'm still busy processing thinky type thoughts about the story (thinky thoughts? whatever.) and am left feeling oddly twitchy about destiny in the Star Trek verse. :D I love it.
So, understanding that I love it, have some fic recs! (Best part of about fannish people, watching excellent new media inspires us to go home, get on our computer, and track down smut. The world would be a happier place if everyone lived by this code.)
Taking the Slower Path by black-eyedgirl :: Technically, preslash? Sort of. Regardless, it's a slow building of Kirk and Spock's friendship. Betting this will be a classic.
Positve Reinforcement. And, no lie, it's positive reinformcement at it's porny, awesome best. Kirk/McCoy. (I dare you not to fall a little in love with McCoy. He's Eomer. How could you not??)
And! Don't let me forget the other fandoms that have lately caught ADHD eye!
The Broccolli Test by princessofg :: SG1; Jack/Daniel. This is a quiet and unassuming Season 7 fic that packs a huge, huge emotional AHHH. LOVE it!
Occam's Razor by frozenseas :: Dark Knight; Batman and Gordon friendship. I loved the idea behind this story; I love how the words were stacked together and the metaphor bandied about in a perfect way. I loved how it was obvious where this was going, but at the end I was still startled into a smile and a fist pump. YES.
And, last, because Audra remains quietly evil and always links me to the good stuff, have an adorable (OMG ADORABLE) Kris/Adam American Idol picspam. I don't even watch AI and I'm still charmed by them both. :DDD
