Dude, where's my shoe?

And there is little that is more liberating than a midnight drive down the highway with the windows rolled down and a cd playing.

Work was quite a fiasco today: we broke the oil bath for the DLS machine, managed to find a vial of the right diameter and cut it shorter, to use as a replacement.. and then while filtering oil into it, squirted oil all over Nate... man. It was not a good day. I also heated a total of 3 samples of polymer until they croaked, before realizing that I really shouldn't heat them over 130C, and that the CMT must be below 80... *sigh*

After work, though, I picked Patrick up, and we went to the Irish Fest on Harriet Island, where we met up with Tingting, Jessica, and Deepa to see Flogging Molly. We started out near the front by the bandstand, but as soon as the band started, it was like, holy shit, everyone is running in jumping up and down and crashing into each other. Nope, I've never been to a rock concert, but wow, you must get really trampled. We got out of there ASAP, but Tingting got stuck in the pit for a bit, and lost her shoe!! She never ended up finding it, but we met up to the side of the show later and found some seats in back to listen. I was probably one of the only people there who have never heard of Flogging Molly before, so I wasn't that excited to begin with, but they were pretty impressive. Some songs, I wouldn't sit at home and decide, "Hmm.. I want to listen to __", but others were really nice. Honestly, though, I wasn't paying that much attention to the band - they were more like (really good) background music. It was just a beautiful night out, and who wants to be at home on Friday night? Afterwards, Pat and I left early to go grab some food, and then briefly met up with TT and the girls again... on University Ave, where all the hot cars and bikes are. They went to check out guys, but me and Pat? Mm.... sexy cars....
