ughhh trying to get over my funk~ idk what's wrong but thanks for bearing with me.
MUSIC RECOMMENDATIONS TIME YAYYY
lj is too srs bsns and annoying me and chronically on its period or something so I am trying to ignore it and distract myself with shiny new objects~ so this is a music recommendation post plz. I pretty much only listen to music I fell in love with five years ago, and while it's still beautiful, stunning, perfect, etc., it would be kind of nice to have new music as welllll. Don't worry, you don't have to provide download links or anythingggg just list a few jams you like or post youtube videos and I'll do the rest!
My tastes tend to lean towards the pop punk/hardcore/acoustic side, but I watch American Idol, so let's face it, it's not like I can be ~elitist~ about music I'll check out.
here is my last.fm to get an idea of what I like. It's stuck in time and hasn't been updated in years, but idk it's still pretty accurate. And
here was my Top 25 playlist on itunes before my iPod died last summer (lolllllllll so embaressing but w/e w/e w/e).
Limbeck. omg, I love these bbs sfm and I've put them at the top of my recommendations list since i saw them in 2004. Their album "Hi, Everything's Great" is among my favorite in the history of everything. love love love. And they have a ~companion called "Hey, Everything's Fine," which is a live recording they did of the entire album at a party. I also love the music they put out after that, but that will forever be my favorite.

(not from "Hi Everything's Great" but it's my favorite music video in the history of everything, so even if you decide you hate that band, put your volume on mute and watch it anyway).
Other song recs (cause no one likes them so like none of their studios are on youtube): "Honk & Wave," "Silver Things," "In Ohio on Some Steps," "People Don't Change."
fun. - I actually ~discovered them when I went to see Limbeck over the summer. It's Nate Ruess' and Jack Antonoff's new band (of The Format & Steel Train, respectively; two other bands i recommend) and tbh I was still really bitter about The Format's indefinite hiatus so I didn't go out of my way to listen to them, but they blew me away live, and their "aim & ignite" album is incredible. It was by far my favorite release of 2009. I really recommend the entire album, but I guess if I have to pick and choose, these are my favorite.

This Providence: I am reluctant to admit my love for them because I tried very hard to run away from anything Fueled by Ramen, but idk, their music is catchy and has a Seattle vibe~ that I like so idk idk idk. The heart wants what it wants, okay? Don't judge meeee. DNW Pete Wentz I promiseeeee.

Motion City Soundtrack: I guess they're pretty popular now and they have a new album out called "My Dinosaur Life" but idk, "I am the Movie" and "Commit This to Memory" are still my favorites ever so here are a few songs from those albums I like, in case you aren't familiar with them yet.

(also just fyi cause I know you are all so ~fascinated: MCS and Limbeck are longtime friends and had a split EP back in the day, blah blah, and this song references their Hi Everything's Great/Hey Everything's Fine album titles and so Robb and Patrick from Limbeck sing that in the background vocals and Patrick Stump is in there too and blah blah I'll shut up)

(limbeck did a cover of this song, fyi OMG I WILL SHUT UP ABOUT THIS BAND NOW SRY SRY SRY)
Also, no one gives a fuck about these bands anymore because they don't do anything anymore (well, technically Over It hasn't officially broken up but w/e w/e I'M NOT STUPID OKAY ;___;) but they were a very big part of my life at one point and I still love their music so I always feel ~obligated to pimp out Hidden in Plain View & Over It when I make these posts.
