Personality:
Ion is a very soft-spoken boy. He rarely raises his voice and usually maintains a calm disposition in every situation. Part of this is because he has been trying to put on the same front of calmness that the previous Fon Master had, so that no one would know he was a replica. The other part of this is due to "locking away" his emotions. He sets aside his feelings in all situations, never getting completely angry or upset. By doing this, he's allowed himself to do his job well, without getting overwhelmed by his own feelings. However, this facade has broken down before. When Sync, another replica of the original Fon master, died before his eyes, Ion cried as though he had just lost a brother. The tears fell from his face almost without him realizing it, much to the surprise of those around him.
Ion isn't the kind of person who will hold a grudge. No matter how negative a person may seem, he will look past that and see only their good qualities; even if the person in question doesn't appear to have anything redeeming about them. On that note, he's far too forgiving and trusting for his own good, something that tends to get him into trouble at times. If someone appears genuinely sorry for their actions, he'll take their word for it and forgive them. He didn't even hold animosity for those directly and indirectly responsible for his death. Despite Anise's betrayal in acting as a spy for Mohs, in his final moments, Ion smiled serenely at Anise and called her his most precious. Finally, Ion is also a very loyal and honest person. He doesn't like telling lies, and as such, has a hard time being around Arietta (who still believed he was the original Ion, rather than his replica, up until her own death). Ion has a great amount of faith in the thoughts and actions of others, trusting that they know what they're doing and never prying at them to talk about something that they don't wish to reveal.
While not necessarily blunt in how he words things, Ion isn't afraid to speak his mind. He is always extremely grateful for the kindness of others, particularly towards the people who so willingly offer to protect him. Ion even went so far as to make Luke blush when he thanked him so thoroughly for offering to protect him in the Cheagle Woods (even though Luke himself had meant it more in the sense that Ion was too weak to be left alone). This sweet disposition is only further emphasized by his kindness. Ion is always willing to help out someone else, even if it means putting himself at risk. He holds the lives and happiness of others far above his own. If there is anything he can do to make others happy, even in a situation where he would be otherwise powerless, he would do it. For example, upon reading the planet score, even as his body was disintegrating, he told Luke the remaining lines of the score, telling him that the score was only one of his many possible futures.
Strengths:
1. Ion is capable of using Daathic fonic artes, which are special artes that only the Fon Master may wield. Although the power of such artes is very strong, the toll on his body is equally as powerful; one attack can have him fainting on his feet. As such, using any kind of arte would be a last-resort move for Ion. This will be especially true in Luceti, given that the power of his artes would be cut in half, likely making the self-sacrifice in vain.
2. More on the first ability, he can also break Daathic seals and, of course, read the score, but neither of these abilities will likely come of use in Luceti. They tire him out as well, same as the use of Daathic fonic artes.
3. Along with his ability to remain calm in even the most tense of situations, Ion is also a very capable mediator. He prefers to work out differences and conflicts with words, rather than through fighting. He holds a strong dislike for war, always wishing for a way so that everyone could live and be happy without anyone having to die for that happiness.
Weaknesses:
1. As a replica of the original Fon Master, he doesn't possess the same strength that the original Ion did. Although he is able to read the Score and use Daathic fonic artes, the strain of using these abilities is often too much for his body to handle. When he first met Luke and Tear in the Cheagle Woods, they saw him collapse after using too strong an arte. It was for this reason that he had been appointed a Fon Master Guardian, Anise, to protect him, because he could not properly protect himself.
2. Aside from low stamina in using magic, he is also not very strong physically. He can't fight, and he gets tired out very quickly if forced to run long distances or do strenuous exercise. A major part of this is due to his chronological age; because he's really only been alive for two years, he's never had any sort of training to help make himself stronger.
3. Having lived his life with the knowledge that he was only created to replace the original Fon Master Ion, whose death had been predicted by the score, Ion generally saw his own existence as something that was not of great worth or importance. While he was never in any way negative about the fact that he was alive, he has a general lack of self-preservation, often doing things that are extremely dangerous or that could put his life at risk. For example, he had gone into the Cheagle Woods by himself in order to investigate the stolen food from Engeve. When he found himself surrounded by monsters, he was forced to use Daathic fonic artes, and very nearly lost consciousness. Furthermore, even upon his death, he told Luke there was no reason to be sad, because there were plenty of replicas who could replace him. In this sense, he is rather reckless, and putting himself needlessly in danger also affects those around him.
4. Is this a weakness? He gets kidnapped a lot in canon. A LOT. I cannot emphasize this enough. I don't think there's any moment in the game where someone isn't trying to kidnap him.
Threadhopping with this character?: So long as the other mun doesn't mind it, I don't either! I would like it if a post order could be worked out either beforehand for longer logs.
Backtagging with this character?: Go right ahead, so long as it won't conflict too much the future. If something major occurs, backtagging may cause issues with how Ion would be acting in future threads, and this stuff makes my head hurt to thing about. D:
Hugging this character?: He is quite huggable. Go for it!
Giving this character a kiss?: He won't initiate it and may be confused, but I'm not stopping you if you think he's just that irresistable~
(Something more intimate?): ...you know, he's technically been alive for only 2 years, and I doubt he studied that particular subject at all in those 2 years. The odds of this happening is beyond low. Uhm. If you even reference it, chances are high that he'll either not understand (unless you are very very blunt) or he'll just blush and be all speechless. Actually, that sounds cute. You should do it. B)
(Relationships?): You can be a total jerk and he'd still try and be your friend! Ion will always see the good in people, even if there's only a small bit of good to be seen. He's also probably really stupid in the romance department, but that doesn't mean you can't try!
Punching this character (provided they can fight back): Go ahead, but he's not gonna be able to fight back, so he'll probably just run away. And then he's telling on you to Anise.
(Injury?): I'm mean. Do whatever you want with him. Just don't get mad if he uses his artes to defend himself if you get too rough (although using a single arte knocks him out, so not much point there; he'd only use this as a last resort). Most likely, he'd use an arte that causes no injury and just puts your character to sleep, so he can escape.
(Death?): Ask me first, please. D: The poor kid already died once in his own world! I'll only allow this under very special circumstance.
Is there anything you do not want mentioned near this character?: No 4th walling...? He's not a video game character in Luceti. Aside from that, I'm not limiting you. <3 However, in the case of spoilers, if your character is from a fandom that I'm keeping track of, I'll probably contact you OOC about it. Otherwise, assume all spoilers are okay!
Is there anything you need us to know about interacting with this character?: His age makes no sense. By this, I mean he doesn't really act his age at all. He's been alive for 2 years, but his body is physically 14. And he acts on a level of maturity far above that (aside from spontaneous moments of adorable). On that note, because Ion is a replica, certain characters might be able to sense something different about him (although this mostly has to do with his body being composed of 7th fonons, which are unique to Auldrant). He is still human though, just... a replicated one!
