[After being flung into countless numbers of trees from the third party's traps during the last draft, Ion swore to himself he'd never climb another tree for as long as he lived. Obviously, he didn't count on finding a baby bird having fallen out of its nest when he made that declaration. And with the mother bird calling for her child overhead, Ion ( Read more... )

[Well, Ororo was just flying past. Decreasing in altitude as she approached the village, too, so she can see the odd rustling about in that particular tree.]

[Curious, she lands carefully just next to it, before looking back up to further examine -]

[- is that a little girl stuck up there?]

Are you stuck, little one?

[...little girl...]

Yes. The branches broke when I was climbing up and I haven't found a way to get down safely...

[sounds like a little girl too, okay]

[in any case, there is a bit of a sympathetic smile.]

Well now, that's a bit of a dilemma, isn't it? Would you like some help?

If it isn't too much trouble, I would certainly appreciate it. [A smile. People here were always so kind.]

I was hoping to find a way down that wouldn't involve jumping. Those thorn bushes wouldn't make a very soft landing... [And after what happened during the draft, falling from another tree wasn't something he was really looking forward to.]

No, I wouldn't imagine that they would. [And with that, Storm will summon a brisk gust of wind fly up to his level! When she is high enough, she'll offer an arm and a warm smile.]

Don't worry, it's quite safe.

[Ion can't help but widen his eyes in surprise when she suddenly flies up towards him. He hadn't really expected something like that...! But given this is Luceti, he should probably learn to stop being so surprised.]

[And so, he'll just silently nod before reaching out for her arm, having no reason not to trust her.]

[Storm wastes no time in carefully taking him into her arms, quickly and efficiently. She's trained enough students in basic rescue ops that this is nothing unfamiliar to her by now.]

[When he's safely within her grasp, she'll take her time in descending on the weakening breeze. Wouldn't want to startle him, after all.]

There now. All done.

[While not startling, he still wasn't entirely sure what to expect, so he remains cautious until they're both safely on the ground. Once he is, he looks up at her with a smile.]

Thank you for rescuing me. [A soft laugh.] I was starting to think I would be up there all day.

It's no problem at all. [taking a step back, but not before looking him over to check if he's okay.]

May I ask what you were doing all the way up there?

[He's a little scratched up from going through the thorn bushes the first time, but it's nothing serious.]

There was a baby bird that fell out of its nest. I heard its mother calling for help, so I carried it back up. [A soft laugh.] Though I didn't expect to end up staying there for so long.

[Oh, he gets a surprised, but warm smile for that. Aren't you the cutest ever?]

That's very kind of you. I'm sure they were both very grateful, both for saving it, and for keeping them company after the fact.

[And he's not even trying, really!]

It was the least I could do. I'm just glad it wasn't injured from the fall.

That is fortunate. It's good that you were not hurt, either. That would have been a nasty fall.
