It has been wet and very cold today, sort of out of nowhere. I found out today that one of my favorite people at work has found something better and is leaving. Kinda sad about that, but she said we'd keep in touch.

I made plans today to visit my Dad and the family for Thanksgiving as usual, but I figured I shouldn't ask for the time off... so I didn't. I'm going to work on the Wednesday before and drive out there afterward. Then I'll be spending Thursday there, and leaving that night. If I need to take time off to work near the end of the month, I don't want to use my chance on this trip, so I'm not going to risk it.

Also, I've started some jalapenos from seed in the kitchen window. They were from a bag full of peppers Craigger gave us. They were mild for jalapenos, but had a really delicious flavor that went well with cheese dip. I'm not entirely sure I can keep them alive inside during the winter, but I'm definitely going to try. I've also been trying to sprout some red canna lily seeds I found near our complex's office building, but they don't seem to want to come out. I think the soil isn't warm enough there.

Speaking of which, I don't think I ever mentioned that my balcony garden was a success this year for most of the plants. The banana peppers produced around 25 mild but tasty fruits, the basil was used in pasta and bruschetta many times, the catnip grew wild and was given to many kitties, and my only casualty was the rosemary. Sadly, the lavender, wisteria, and Carolina allspice never bloomed, and the raspberry wasn't mature enough to really produce anything. Next year's garden will have purple morning glories added, as well as a few other random things I've taken seeds from.

I need to discover some new music to listen to. Everything I'm hearing from the EBM/industrial/synthpop/etc. scene lately has felt weak and trite to me. I need to find something fresh, something that's not just mimicking Covenant or VNV with terrible lyrics. :/
