So creeped out.
I went outside to get something from my car and happened to notice my neighbors had their shades open. They were watching TV and an older lady noticed me as I glanced in as I walked by. I got down about three steps when I realized I didn't have my damn keys. So, I turned around and went back, past the window. I got about halfway back to my place when I heard the door open and her call out "If you want to come in, come in!" in a very angry voice. *shudder* Leave me alone, old lady, I just forgot my keys... D:
Sorry, had to get that out. Today was an alright day otherwise. There was the fact that my ex-stepdad showed up at one of the clinics, but Patrick and I were luckily somewhere else. It still sent me into hyper-aggro mode, though. I don't know what I would have done if I had been there. I know I'd want to unleash hell.
Also, my praying mantises have hatched! There are so many. It's amazing. Ian will be claiming one of them, but most of them will be released when it's a little warmer out. Maybe I'll let them go in Piedmont Park. Away from Patrick, of course, who is terrified of them and doesn't like to look at the jar.
Flowers are still growing well. I bought two sticks that will eventually grow into a
Carolina Sweetshrub (Calycanthus). Right now one stick looks dead, while the other has a few tiny green and maroon leaves budding out. Calycanthus are my absolute favorite flowers, and I thought for a long time they were rare. I had never seen another Calycanthus outside of the woods near my dad's house in North Carolina. And the smell... if only I could transmit it over the internet. It's so delicious. In fact, ladies used to scent their underwear drawer with the flowers in sachets back in the 30's.
Patrick and Andy are building a fort in my living room now. Old school style, with pillows, couch cushions, blankets, and chairs. I think I should join them.
