The Social Welfare Agency was situated in a massive compound on the edge of the city. It had once been a boarding school. A very high-end one. Raven wasn't entirely sure why she was here. She didn't want to watch Triela die, and the temptation to disregard all of Karla, Dana, and Anakin's warnings would be too high. But she also didn't want to allow a friend be alone during her last days.

Hilshire approached her pretty much as soon as she arrived. "Miss Raven. Will you be staying with us overnight?" Or did she want to go straight to Triela?

She wasn't going to spend the night in this strange and awful place alone. She didn't trust the people here one bit.

"Not well." Hilshire didn't really candy-coat things.

"The rate of damage is increasing. They think she's already at least as bad as she was before you worked on her."

"A week if she's lucky." And Hilshire's emotional state suggested that they weren't expecting her to be lucky.

Raven wanted to rage again, but what was the point now? And with her emotions as tightly wound as they were now, it would probably be a bad idea to let any of her anger out.

She nodded wearily. "Take me to her, please," she said.

Dinah was portal-lagged, and clutching an overnight bag and a backpack full of books. Finals week was next week. Maybe she could bop back and forth, New Gotham to Rome, for classes this week....

"There's been no sign of tissue regeneration." Which is what they'd been hoping for. "She's... getting worse. Slowly, but steadily."
