Triela was not much of a sugary person at all, really. Ino kinda was. Which would be why, surely, it was no surprise when Ino showed up, leaning in the doorway, with a sucker in her mouth, right?

She had more stashed about her person. If there was going to be Serious Talk then Ino was determined to have a) sugar and b) something to fiddle with.

Suckers fulfilled both those needs nicely, yes.

"It's like a ghost town in here," she said, amused. "Oooo, spooky."

Or not.

Triela snorted. "Don't worry, little girl. If the bad monsters come, I'll protect you."

Yeah. Because Ino was so much smaller than Triela.

And while Triela certainly wasn't much of a sweets person, she'd remembered to make sure there was sugar. In case Ino wanted some for her tea.

Ino rolled her eyes and pulled the sucker out of her mouth. "And who'll protect you then?"

"I'm sure some dashingly handsome prince will come to my rescue," Triela offered with an eyeroll of her own. "Come on in. There's tea."

"I do like tea," she said, coming in to flop herself down. "And dashingly hot princes too. Do you have any of those handy?"

"Unfortunately there's a shortage, so no extras for guests." Of course Triela didn't even have one of her own, but whatever.

"Too bad," Ino sighed. "Guess there's not much point in stickin' 'round."

"Other than my delicious tea and charming company? I guess not." The tea actually was pretty good. Whether or not Triela could ever be called 'charming' with any degree of accuracy, well... that was another matter.

"Since when are you charming?" she asked, raising her eyebrows.

"Always, duh." Or never. It was one of those two.

To head off any snarky response, she hoped, Triela held out a cup of tea for Ino.

Ino's lips twitched as she took the cup of tea.

"Thank you," she said mildly. "It's an interesting sort of bribe."

"Well, it's not like I have a lot else to offer," Triela pointed out in amusement.

Triela snorted. "I didn't realize you were so sensitive," she teased.

"I'm very sensitive," she said earnestly.

"Uh huh." Triela smirked a bit. "Then you'll be able to appreciate that tea properly." Or something.
