Basically, as I blow the smoke, it swirls around mushi and pushes them away if they're near me. Also, if mushi are bundling up too much, it breaks them apart. In general, too many mushi in one place is not a good thing.

So I think that smoke would be the only one.

They aren't in the town, yes...but I have seen some of them in the wilderness when I was traveling. It's strange, something seems to be repelling them from coming into the town.

I wonder what is repelling them. If your smoke was acting as a repellent, maybe it's something like that. Just more powerful.
