The mugura experiment was very much a success. Thank you again, Mistral and Kyouya. The three of us hiked south of the town, towards the nearest peek in the southern mountain range. I've included a map to demonstrate the width of the area I was able to observe while my conscious was fused with the mugura network in the ground.
Pretty large area, I'm happy to say. Did you know that we have a desert south of us? I only knew about it before thanks to Trunks' map.
I remembered more about my 'other' life.
There was a small village on the other side of a deep, deep ravine, high in the mountains. The only way to reach it was a rickety old suspension bridge; I swear I almost died crossing it. =_W They tried fixing it for me so I could get back, but in the meantime I met the girl I'd been asked by letter to inspect. She had fallen into that same ravene months before, and miraculously found her way home; she did not speak, however. A mushi had attached itself to her body after she'd landed, animating her body. I could tell that it was very likely that the mushi had inhabited a corpse, but there still existed the possibility that she had survived the fall.
She had a lover in the village. Her mother was not his biggest fan, to say the least. He'd wanted to leave the village with the girl, and she had accidentally slipped and fell from the bridge that night when they tried to run away. He wanted to believe she was still alive somewhere in that empty catatonic stare of hers.
The mushi finally left. She...did not return.
He and I tried to leave the village, but accidentally, he slipped and fell before I could catch hold of his arm. Much later, I heard news that he had returned to the village after this. Empty face, devoid of life...
Perhaps their souls found each other in the afterlife.

[ Ginko's spirits had been up, noticeably so by his friends. He'd been smiling more, compared to during the summer. It's been dying down recently, although he smiled genuinely when he spoke of the mugura experiment.
Tanyuu had disappeared from the island, and he hadn't mentioned it to anyone yet. Strange, usually he was more up-front about this kind of thing. Maybe he simply was still trying to decide what it was he was feeling. It felt like regret...but didn't he always prepare himself for these goodbyes? He's been through so many already. Maybe it was a feeling of loss over someone he knew from the life he lived before he came here. How should you feel when that happens?
Ginko checked
Tanyuu's last written journal entry, and read it once...twice.
"How do you know it is yourself falling in love? None of us know our full selves."
In the life he lived before this island, the one lived on the road, the life of little companionship....truly, Tanyuu had been the closest thing to what he could call--
Ginko closed the journal and got ready for work. Goddamn, this endless test-grading and assignment-writing... ]
(( OOC:: Ha. I have no idea about that teacher log we were talking about. If you want to reply here with your teacher character and chat like you're at the bar, might as well! Also, Ginko is very annoyed and pissy for some reason. WONDER WHY. Also, that map is indeed visible to your characters! Ginko's been keeping it to himself ahaha. He got it from Trunks a while ago. No idea if anyone's seen a map of the full island before... OH ALSO, 3% memory regain spent on "One Night Bridge", 2% remaining. ))
