My assistant and student, Haruhi, disappeared.

She was a hard worker. I'm in trouble without her...-_W;

She also taught me what it means to lead your life knowing how it can affect those you care about. I'd never been yelled at before that, by someone I respected. After that, I respected her more. She was so straight- ( Read more... )

Yeah, I noticed she disappeared, too. My gir...Mikuru seemed upset by it, especially since another friend vanished at the same time. Let's hope she's safely home.

I can't say I can do the hours you're looking for, but if you need help with curriculum, well...I do come from a family of scientists. I'll admit, I'm not the best with biology, but I can definitely help out with the physical sciences.

I believe that she is.

Physical sciences, eh? What's your background?

My mother and my grandfather were two of the most renowned scientists of the time, and so I grew up around laboratories and physical experiments. I picked up a good deal from that, and from helping Mom out in experiments. My biggest achievement...well, no. Our biggest achievement was a working time machine.

Yeah, we barely managed it with what we had.

...And then this place decided to take it away from me when it brought me here.

This place...took it from you? What do you mean? You didn't just leave it where you came from?

I don't think so. My time machine was too valuable to keep anywhere but on my own body. The only other explanation was that Mom was doing something with it, but the chances of that are low since it's already been finished.

...This isn't the first time that someone's claimed that the island took something away from them besides their memories. Perhaps it is true, then...

I wonder how many people are missing things. We might never know, since most everyone here is still missing gaps in their memories.

I've heard of a few other cases myself. My guess is that the island has some sort of an entry fee. I've been keeping an ear out for any other such cases, but haven't heard anything else. Can I ask you to do the same?

"Entry fee"...?

... *nods* I always keep my ears open anyway, so rest assured.
