Nothing can compete with the sight of sunlight after that nightmare.

Eyes lost, and sight gained... So this is where the nightmare came from.
I helped a woman afflicted by mushi who was granted vision for the first time in her life by that same mushi. I wish I'd ran away faster before she forced me to get a room at that inn but I found her story to be definitely intriguing, one that she told me through song. Her eyes possessed a sight that worked as both a blessing and a curse for her; the ability to see all things, past, present, and future.
Eventually, she asked me about myself. "Why are you so willing to help me, Ginko? Is it because you lost your left eye?"
"You can see the past, can't you," I responded.
"In your case, no I can't, because your childhood is all black to me."
What else could I say. "...
"...You want to know what my earliest memory is? I was ten. I was walking alone, somewhere in the dark. I couldn't see anything at all. I tried to grope my way through that darkness, but it seemed endless...hopeless...until the moon came out. It was snow white, almost unreal-looking, and was slowly setting, just as another moon started to rise. I walked for a long time. Eventually, I came to a place where I could see the sun rising.
"I used to appreciate it back then. The sunlight and its warmth."
I remember saying this.
And yet, I can't remember the memory I was talking about. I should've recalled it as I spoke, and yet...nothing.
What does this mean?

((I'm really sorry I messed this up, but I promise I was operating under the assumption that Ginko got this memory during the nightmare event, it's just... I forgot to post about it specifically. 8I SO! 3% memory regain about Ayu and episode 25 of Mushishi. HEY KIDDIES~ You can
watch it totally legally at the FUNimation youtube thingy~! At the very least watch the first 2 1/2 minutes please please please it's one of my favorite Ginko moments ever. XD;
Speaking of memories, I'm pretty sure Ginko still has 4% unspent Tanabata festival memories left over ah ha ha ha ah ha. Sorry 'bout that. Still deciding.
Also, Haruhi should respond here and I can make a stupid seiyuu joke. :P (If you watch episode 25 in Japanese, you can hear Sakamoto Maaya's awesome possum old-fashioned singing voice OMG.)
Also ALSO, Ginko is starting to tread upon the first and only evidence he's going to get that his earliest childhood memories are unattainable! He won't remember that scene he described until he gets 100% and beats The Cave. 8I I think that's how it works?))
